City Yoga X is looking to change the experience of yoga teachers and practitioners. If you’re going to be a rebel, do it with a purpose, and at City Yoga X we know that yoga can transform our community and the world. Offering unique experience to engage, provoke thought, learning, and collaboration, we know that if you want a different result you need to do things differently. From classes to social gatherings, workshops to workouts, we are rebels with a cause.
Why X. It represents the unknown and is a multiplier. We know we don’t know the answers to all the questions we have about teaching and practicing in our city. So we are creating the circumstances to co-create, ask these questions, shift perspectives, be honest, build community and use yoga as the vehicle of transformation.
Rebel Rebel. City Yoga X was the brainchild of Ula Kaniuch, and it all started when the studio she taught at shut down without warning. The impact rippled out past the walls of the studio’s teachers and into the community. She began to ask, is there a different way to offer yoga to our city that supports our teachers and students?
Yoga can transform. We know that statistically, yoga practitioners are more likely to give back to their community, donate their time, report having a greater sense of balance, mental clarity, are more likely to live green and not only practice yoga but are over all more likely to be active and live an active lifestyle. More yoga = better communites.
Givers gain. City Yoga X kicked off August by offering complimentary classes to the community, bringing together a wide range of teachers from different studios and backgrounds. There is an open invitation to practitioners and teachers to come join, connect, and discover what the future looks like together. By giving without expectation there is the possibility to discover something new, the whole community can gain from this.
Future. With a long term vision of bringing yoga to the people while supporting the teachers through innovative ventures, you can expect to see experiences that don’t follow the traditional formats of yoga workshops or classes. From efforts to connect and showcase teachers, offering opportunities that support teachers in the business of yoga, and leaving the door open for collaboration, City Yoga X is a rebel with a cause.
